HTC to sell 10 million 4G smartphones in 2011

Last week during CES 2011 HTC has announced three new 4G smartphones: HTC Thunderbold via Verizon, HTC Inspire 4G via AT&T and HTC Evo Shift 4G via Sprint. I guess these are not the all surprises for HTC fans and more devices will be unveiled later this year.

These three smartphones and the others that would be announced later are the main reasons why the Taiwanese company planned to sell more than 10 million 4G smartphones until 2012. As we can assume most of them will be Android-based handsets, and it is a reasonable step as Android is the fastest growing OS in the world.

According to DigiTimes the 4G smartphones will be sold not only in the North America but also in Europe and Japan.

In the end I want to mention in 2010 HTC shipped about 3.5 million 4G smartphones in the US – 3 million HTC Evo 4Gs via Sprint and 0.5 million myTouch 4Gs via T-Mobile.
