HTC Merge New Photo Leaked

We first learned about the HTC Merge back in August of the previous year. There was a rumor that it was going to be released by Verizon Wireless, but it didn’t take place. The situation might change, however. As an evidence of this we can mention the recent pics of the gadget leaked with the special red color search button and earpiece. There’s also a rumor that Verizon continues to get more and more units of the gadget for its basic stores.

The gadget has a 3.8 inch WVGA display, Android OS 2.2 with the latest version of the HTC Sense user interface, a 5 megapixel camera with the Flash and auto-focus features, a 800 MHz processor, 512 MB of RAM. The connectivity includes Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth and 3G applicable to all of the world locations. The device comes with a full QWERTY-keyboard, which is similar to the one of the HTC Desire Z — the successor of the HTC Desire.

There is no official information from Verizon yet, and this is quite disturbing. There are already two carriers — Alltel and Cellular South — that sell the gadget, so Verizon has to make a more attractive price offer. This is a must because after the release of the HTC Thunderbolt Merge has lost its charm.

The HTC Merge actually has an alternative in the form of the Motorola Droid 2. But if we compare these two smartphones, we’ll see that the HTC Merge is a little bit more advanced, and thus with an interesting price offer the competition issue will be solved.
