We know now that the HTC Hero is not going to receive Android 2.2. But the company couldn’t leave the Asian users with Android 1.5, that would be a total disaster. And now those who live in Taiwan or in any other Southern Asian location will receive the update.
It’s not difficult to update your smartphone’s OS. First you need to install the pre-update of firmware to 2.73.728.91 (or 2.73.707.91 for Singapore). Then it should be finished up with the second round update with the actual Android 2.1. The list of the countries includes these five locations: Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.
So far there are no comments concerning the late update reasons.
