A few days ago we learned that the HTC Rhyme will be released soon, most likely this month, and now we found out that another phone, the HTC Explorer (also known as the HTC Pico), is also going to join the party! This seems to be just a rumor, but several blogs and Clove (retailer store) have confirmed this info, so it’s most likely true.
As far as we know, the handset has a 3.2 inch HVGA display, a 600 MHz processor, a 5MP camera and 512MB of RAM. Obviously it’s not a high-end phone, but it doesn’t mean it won’t be popular.
The device was first spotted in the website of Clove, but then it was removed, which is kind of weird. Anyway, before it was removed we managed to learn about several new specs of the phone, too, so now we can add them to the known list: it’s a 1230mAh battery, customized HTC Sense UI (which is assumed to be HTC Sense 3.5) and some mysterious data control app (designed for providing ideal mobile internet management).
Most likely, the price of the handset will be something like £100- £120 ($155- $185). This means that the device will be similar to the HTC Wildfire S.
There’s a chance to hear more about the handset during the October 6 HTC event, but this info is not confirmed anyway.
