The HTC Desire S will be available in the middle of Q2, but this is now news as we have talked about it for many times. But after the European version of the HTC Desire is on sale, the other members of Desire family will get Android 2.3 update.
According to the CNET, the HTC Desire, HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z will get Gingerbread 1-2 after the HTC Desire S will be on stores, and if we deep a little in calculations, it becomes clear the Android 2.3 will be rolled out somewhere between June and August. This means Google will push out the new version of its popular mobile platform after six months of its release.
May be it is interesting to know the HTC Desire Z and HTC Desire HD will get Gingerbread sooner than the original HTC Desire will do.
Though there are not any details whether the update will be available for the T-Mobile G2, which has been launched in the US last fall, but we hope the upgraded version of Android will hit it too.
Three other HTC phones have been included in the Desire family, I mean the HTC EVO 4G, HTC Inspire 4G, and the upcoming HTC Thunderbolt, so they would be updated to the Gingerbread not sooner than in June.
I have to recall that only the Nexus S runs Android 2.3, and it’s very nice to hear HTC would be one of those companies who will update many of its smartphones to Android 2.3.
