Recent times have been sweet and sour for HTC. It has been working a lot on its One line, and has been having financial problems at the same time. We would want a smooth path for HTC, but it turns out Samsung might become a party-pooper for the One family.
Samsung’s Galaxy III has been no secret, but the beginning of its promotional campaign was yet to be guessed. As the One line are on their way to be launched this month, Samsung sends out invitations for a press conference, taking place in London on May 3. This might seem like a harmless meeting, but the invitation says “Come and meet the next Galaxy.” What could be more obvious than this? Samsung is definitely planning to start the promotion of the upcoming Galaxy S III during the press conference. This might ruin HTC’s effort to win over the One handsets.
It has been officially announced that HTC has registered a disturbing profit decline and has replaced its CFO. This can be either HTC’s lifeboat to survive in the market or a complete disaster and confusion. Samsung is pretty good at loud launches and promo events, therefore HTC needs to be very cautious not to lose One vs Galaxy battle.
