The HTC EVO 3D and the HTC Sensation – both are the flagships of the Taiwanese company, both have very powerful specs and both are thought to be great smartphones. I’m sure many of you are wondering if these devices are equally powerful and fast. The same question came to Android Central’s guys’ minds, and they decided to find out how the HTC Sense 3.0 works on the HTC EVO 3D and the HTC Sensation.
Both smartphones are based on dual-core 1.2GHz processors, but the test revealed that the Sense 3.0 runs a bit faster on the EVO 3D!
So why is the HTC EVO 3D faster? Let’s look at the rest of the specs of these smartphones to understand. Both devices have 4.3-inch touchscreens, while the HTC Sensation’s display uses the Gorilla Glass technology, so it’s rather difficult to break, and the HTC EVO 3D’s display is famous for its ability to show glasses-free 3D imagery.
The next difference is hidden in the cameras of these devices: The HTC Sensation sports an 8MP camera that can record HD videos at 1080p, while the EVO 3D’s rear-facing camera is only 5MP, but it can record 1080p HD and 720p 3D videos.
Both smartphones seem to support the 4G network, both run the same OS, both have 1GB of internal memory, but the HTC Sensation’s RAM is 768MB, and the HTC EVO 3D’s RAM is 1GB. I guess the clue in hidden here, in the different amounts of RAM! Maybe 256MB of RAM isn’t that much, but it’s enough to make a difference and affect the speed of the famous UI – the HTC Sense 3.0.
One more thing – these smartphones are offered by different carriers, and Android Central thinks this can also play an important role, since each carrier makes some software changes and tries to improve the smartphones it sells.
So, it seems like the HTC Sense 3.0 UI is faster on the HTC EVO 3D because it has some extra megabytes of RAM and comes via another carrier – Sprint. This is just an assumption anyway, and you can make your own conclusions after watching this video:
