At the beginning of each year we see new devices introduced at different tech events. Among them the two most anticipated events are the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and the Mobile World Congress (MWC). These are the major events where phone makers unveil their latest achievements in the tech world. This year three main players will make a boom — Nokia, HTC and Samsung. If Nokia has slightly revealed its plans (Lumia 900), the same cannot be said about the rest of the companies. In any case we are waiting for quad-core smartphones.
CES 2012 will take place in January, and a month later from February 27 to March 1 the second event, MWC 2012 will open its doors to manufacturers. This is when we expect to meet the Samsung Galaxy S III and the HTC Edge.
Both handsets have all chances to become popular, though for the first handset it’ll be much easier as its predecessors have ensured a good ground for it. Anyway, the Samsung Galaxy S III seems to come with an Exynos quad-core CPU, 3D, LTE, a 720p Super Amoled Plus screen and an increased 12MP camera unlike the Galaxy S II’s 8MP.
As for the HTC Edge, this handset is expected to be packed with the same processor. Other than that it comes with a 4.7-inch HD display, an 8MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera, 1GB of RAM and such features as HTC Read, HTC Watch and HTC Play. Plus, the device will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
