HTC and Verizon have already sent out invitations for a November 13 event at which the manufacturer and the carrier will unleash the first 5-inch HTC smartphone in the US. The HTC Droid DNA is said to be the HTC J Butterfly’s alerted variant. If it’s true, then we know pretty much about the upcoming smartphone but no one knows what specs the phone will come with. Anyway, the device has already been confirmed by Verizon via its Google+ page and its “Droid Does” website.
Surprisingly, Verizon has decided to invite its Google+ followers to an exclusive unboxing of the HTC DNA on November 19. It’s not a new thing for OEMs to feature live streams of their press events but it’s the first time a service provider offers live handset unboxing.
At the moment we don’t have an exact feature list but let’s make guesses on the selling points of the Droid DNA taking into account what we have seen on the HTC J Butterfly. So we’ll presumably have a 5-inch 1080p screen with 440ppi pixel density, a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean skinned with HTC Sense and a 2,020mAh non-removable battery. If these assumptions prove correct Big Red will have one of the most attractive smartphones in its portfolio.
