Is there anyone nowadays who hasn’t heard anything about live wallpapers? I think these apps are among the greatest features coming with Android 2.1 and higher, and I don’t think there are many people who will argue with me about this.
A live wallpaper is an app that provides a beautiful image for homescreen, user-interaction with the touchscreen and access to the smartphones hardware and software features. Cool, hm? And the best thing is that only Android has live wallpapers! So the users of iPhone, BlackBerry, Nokia and other devices can’t use these cool apps. Envy us, non-Android-based phone owners!
Here is my list of top 3 live wallpapers for Android. All these wallpapers are free, so don’t hesitate to download and try them!
1. 3D Matrix III Revolution live wallpaper
If you’re a Matrix fan like me, perhaps you have heard about the third and the last episode of the famous series known as “The Matrix Revolutions.” The “3D Matrix III Revolution” is the third app from the Matrix series, and it’s much cooler than the older ones, including a new matrix effect that looks like the one from the movie and the faces of the main characters of the movie created with the same matrix effect. It’s well optimized and implemented with OpenGL, and has fully customized setting options.
And the best thing about this app is that it’s totally free! Here is its QR code (you know how to use it, right?):
2. Luna Stream live wallpaper
Luna Stream is the next free live wallpaper I really enjoy. It’s so bright and artistic and seems to be a work of some impressionist painter. This app is very “modest” in size (even less than 64K), but it’s really beautiful and stylish. Just like the Matrix app I mentioned above, it’s well optimized, implemented with OpenGL and has customized setting options.
And its QR code is:
3. Solar Wind live wallpaper
Solar Wind live wallpaper is one of my most favorite Android apps. It looks really great with that solar wind flowing effect and that mesmerizing sparkling… It doesn’t weigh much – less than 64K – but has the same pluses I mentioned about the first two apps – it’s well implemented with OpenGL, has customized setting options and is highly optimized.
Here is the QR code of this app:
Of course, there are many other great live wallpapers for Android, too, and we’ll surely discuss them later.
By the way, if you don’t know how to set a live wallpaper, here is a short instruction: Just long press your Homescreen > Wallpapers > Live Wallpapers. And that’s all!
