T-Mobile G1 (also known as HTC Dream) and MyTouch 3G (known as HTC Magic) were the gadgets that were being supported by CyanogenMod. And now when their popularity has fallen down, the things are getting worse for the gadgets, leading to the dismissal of those from the list.

Earlier we were expecting the first developers’ gadget- T-Mobile G1 to stick up with the CyanogenMod even after the fact that T-Mobile itself announced about the goodbye to the device. The smartphone was so great, that multiple companies even tried to clone it, while there was no more G1.

I bet that if this was the case with XDA developers, then the gadget would not die- these enthusiasts would be more excited for making the gadget more updated- porting this and that kind of operating systems and features. But anyways it’ s over by now. And those users who do still have this awesome device will just look at it and remember the first Android creation.

If speaking clearly we should mention that the device information will still be available from the official website of CyanogenMod, but still we do have the note that “This devices is no longer supported after CyanogenMod 6.x”.

CyanogenMod is based on Android Open Source Project, which in it’s turn leads to the idea that CyanogenMod is an open source itself. Thus quite a large number of the enthusiasts included in the project might try to put some effort for the creation of new updates. These will be unofficial ones though.

The update for myTouch 3G has been delayed and we almost lost the hope for it to come up sometime soon. But as it feels like there is a chance that the OTA update will finally arrive on January 12. The update will add the desired Froyo to the gadget. The update will land both for myTouch 3G 3.5mm jack and myTouch Fender LE.

The update is going to be land to the device during a few weeks, still the carrier promises that by the midnight of the February 1st all of the users will get a chance to enjoy the Froyo experience on their gadgets.

As for the rumors T-Mobile has a rather detailed description of the situation:

Beginning January 12, 2011, the highly anticipated Android 2.2 Froyo operating system will be made available to T-Mobile customers using the myTouch 3G 3.5mm Jack and myTouch Fender LE via over-the-air update (OTA). myTouch devices should be fully charged before beginning the download. The Android 2.2 Froyo update will provide a number of benefits, including a new or enhanced home screen experience, new or improved Exchange e-mail integration, and the addition of Faves Gallery. The update will be sent to customers using the myTouch 3G 3.5mm Jack and myTouch Fender LE in staggered waves beginning January 12 and we anticipate all customers will receive it by February 1, 2011.

MyTouch 3G Slide owners have been waiting for Android 2.2 update for a long time, and now I have two news for them. Though they are based on rumors, but they look very plausible. So the first news is good, it assures the update is being worked on and would be available soon, while the second news is about the delay of the launch date.

The release date is delayed because of two issues, one of them is related with the fact the WiFi Calling doesn’t work all the time, but the company doesn’t know what its reason is. The second problem concerns the OTA update, more when you try to update your myTouch 3G, it is being directed to the wrong partition which apparently doesn’t have enough space for processing the update.

According to the rumors the Taiwanese company is aware of these issues and is working to fix them, so we can confirm the update is coming, but when it’ll reach us we don’t know. Let’s hope the best.

The promise from T-Mobile to update the device to the newest version of Android 2.2 made some of the users to get too lucky ahead of the time. Unluckily the release of the Froyo on the gadgets is being postponed.

The date of October 25 is far ahead and thus still no update getting on the devices. But we do have some kind of update on the official forums. According to the thread the release of the popular update is being pushed back to December 15.

The reason for the postpone of myTouch update is not mentioned in any of the cases, but I bet the carrier got a good explanation of that otherwise it does not make any sense. But there are some rumors that the release will take place even earlier. Let’s cross the fingers.

If you’re stuck with the T-Mobile myTouch 3G and consider yourself to be somewhat unlucky we’re ready to change your mind. An update is being rolled by T-Mobile. The update has to do with the operating system of the gadget. And the company tries to make it as good as possible. The Android Froyo update is going to be the same way as in case of the most of the devices.

The roll-out of the update is going to take place until the last day of the month, so you better hold out your hopes until the time. As for main changes the official thread mentions the fact that update is designed for those device which are equipped with 3.5mm jack. Anyways the main idea of the update is to improve screen experience and email experience.

The popularity of Google Android seems to be growing with each new Android smartphone model launched. By the end of this year, according to Google, there will be at least two dozens of Google-phone models.
