Several months ago Sprint announced it is going to reveal a Windows Phone 7-powered handset in the first weeks of March. Now these rumors are confirmed and we know the carrier will launch its first CDMA device, the HTC 7 Pro, on Thursday. There are many features we think the phone boasts and Sprint has made a right decision, because there was a time when other rumors buzzed the net the WP7 smartphone will be the HTC Arrive.
The confirmation announcement comes from the teaser as a question to its twitter followers, but also mentioned the phone has “a hub for gaming, music, pictures, and video”.
There is not so much time to see the Sprint HTC 7 Pro in our hands, so it’s the right time to have glance on the phone’s features. The smartphone sports a 3.6-inch touchscreen with resolution of 480×800 pixels, 5MP camera with autofocus and LED flash and video recording abilities at 720p, 8 or 16GB internal memory storage and standard 1500mAh battery providing up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 420 hours of stand-by mode. But as it is a high-end smartphone we could assume there would be a 1GHz Scorpion processor packed with Adreno 200 GPU and Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon chipset, 448 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM and runs Windows Phone 7 OS as it has been told above. That’s a very pleasant as Windows Phone 7’s first update is being pushed out today.
Anyway, I guess the carrier will have success with this smartphone, though there is some provocative question, whether Microsoft’s platform is too much loved by users.
