MWC 2010: HTC HD mini Introduced

HTC  delighted all of the fans of the Windows Mobile software platform, introducing a new smartphone HD mini, formerly known with the code name HTC Photon, at the exhibition Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona. The new device is already considered to be a slightly smaller version of the popular smartphone of HD2. In particular, the diagonal of the capacitive HVGA screen of HD mini is just 3.2 inches.

The design of HTC HD mini is generally similar to the previous models, while the bright yellow color, selected by developers for the battery compartment, favorably contrasts with the external severity of the device. Despite the fact that the function keys are executed on the same level with full glass front surface of the smartphone, working with them is pretty easy. The back cover of HD mini has a rubberized structure, so that, the device is sufficiently reliable in the hand.

HTC HD mini is based on Windows Mobile 6.5.3 operating system, and according to the developers, an upgrade to Windows Mobile 7 is not expected, since the device screen is too small and its resolution does not meet the requirements of the future flagship mobile OS from Microsoft. But the smartphone supports HTC Sense user interface, which is extremely comfortable, has good functionality and is focused on managing through fingers. Like its predecessor, the smartphone HTC HD mini continues the tradition of integration with your mail client Outlook, while a special widget HTC Peep is responsible for work with Twitter micro blog. In addition, there are special widgets to work with social networking site Facebook.

When creating HD mini developers have not used the powerful hardware platform Snapdragon, which we already saw in HD2. Nevertheless, the power used by Qualcomm MSM7227 processor with 600 MHz, is sufficient to ensure an acceptable level of performance. In addition to this, the smartphone can boast of having a built-in 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, as well as support for HSDPA. HD mini has a slot for microSD cards to enhance internal memory, while music lovers will prefer a 3.5-mm jack for connecting your headphones. Taking into consideration all of this functionality and when compared to HTC HD2, the value of the smartphone is affordable as well. The exact price of HD Mini, however, is still unknown.
