Microsoft to Fix Windows Phone SMS Flaw

Khaleed Salameh who discovered an operational flaw in smartphones running Windows Phone, posts on his blog that Microsoft admitted the problem and announced that the solutions is  coming and they are working to release the fix.

Previously we have reported that according to Mr. Salameh, it was enough to send a special string of text to any Windows Phone by SMS, Facebook chat or Windows Live, to make the phone suddenly switch off and stop operating the Messaging Hub. Salameh said the only solution at that time was to restore it to the factory state and erasing all user data. But Salameh was also careful not to disclose publicly the deadly message, as it could give to people with evil inclinations some powerful weapon to play trick on their victims.

Anyway, the fix is looming on the horizon, ad meanwhile, Windows Phone users have to be hopeful, that until the fix is there, no message will be sent to them forcing their handset to shut down automatically. But the only thought that there is an untreated flaw in their phones, would definitely make Windows Phone users disappointed since you do not expect to learn there is a flaw in a newly acquired smartphone. Also this flaw gave Microsoft haters and competitors good material for criticism, jokes, complaints, anti-Microsoft slogans, etc…
