HTC’s 5-inch display is a real phone. The Taiwanese manufacturer has announced the HTC J Butterfly for Japan market only.
Undoubtedly, the 1080p 5-inch screen is the selling point of the HTC J Butterfly because this super LCD3 display comes at 440ppi mind-exposing pixel density (1920×1080 pixels). there should be no concerns regarding the phone’s battery and thickness as HTC has done everything in the best way. The HTC J Butterfly is packed with a 2020mAh battery and is 9.1mm thick. This device is a bit bigger than the HTC One X; their dimensions are 143x71x9.1mm and 134.4×69.9×8.9mm, respectively. The J Butterfly weighs 140g, which is not that heavy for a 5-inch screen smartphone.
The rest of features include a quad-core Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of native storage, which can be expanded thanks to microSD card slot, LTE, NFC, a 2MP camera on the front, an 8MP snapper on the back that also can record videos at 1080p and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean pre-loaded. Also, it is dust and waterproof (IPX5).
The HTC J Butterfly will hit the Japanese market in December via AU/KDDI, and it will be available in three colors — red, black and white. Though we don’t think exactly this model will be available overseas, we’re almost sure similar features will appear on upcoming models of HTC.
