HTC’s attempts to enter the tablet market were not successful. The company used to think if it leads the shipped smartphones’ chart, the tablet market would worship it as well. Unfortunately, HTC’s success didn’t last long. The company revived but it was already late. Everything can change now since looking at the Google Nexus 7 the Taiwanese manufacturer somehow believes it’s possible to snatch some market share.
According to latest leaks, HTC is in negotiations with Pegatron to launch its own tablet before the end of this year. The rumors also claim the company is in two minds regarding the screen size, a 7-inch or a 10-inch one?
HTC has two tablets, the HTC Flyer and Jetstream. But both slates were priced so high that they just couldn’t make competition to other top manufacturers. At the moment, HTC is greatly excited by the sales of the Nexus 7 tablets. But Google’s slates are priced very cheaply, so if HTC wants to reenter the market and succeed, it must reconsider its price policy.
