HTC Trophy Getting Radio Update from Verizon
Not so long ago HTC was so silent that we had almost no news from the company; that was before Christmas. While now everything’s fallen into its place and every day some new activity of the manufacturer is being revealed. Today it refers to the HTC Trophy currently getting a radio update, dealing with the GSM roaming issue.
We yet haven’t checked the accuracy of this information, but users have been recently reporting to WPcentral that Big Red is rolling out an update, which they have already managed to download and install. You shouldn’t confuse it with the 8107 OS update (it has a longer changelog). Unlike the 8107 OS update, this one has only a few goals one of them being to fix the network connection issue, which occurred in phones once they were back to the US from abroad where they were used on another network. Plus it adds a feature allowing users to choose the kind of data connection the phone will connect to, say 3G or EDGE.

After installing the update, the OS version will remain the same — 7.10.7720.68, but the firmware revision number will be changed to 2305.13.20110.605, and the Radio software number to 2305.13.20110.605.
Based on some user reports we concluded that if you have installed the abovementioned 8107 OS update via a custom ROM, you will most likely not be able to install this one. Perhaps this is not what you’d like to hear, but I advise you to always wait for official updates and not to load your phone with whatever you come across and consider interesting.
