HTC Touch Pro2 Gets System Update

The HTC Touch Pro2 has a two-year history, but it doesn’t mean there are not many owners of this phone. This is why the Taiwanese company has decided to push out a minor software update. Though it is surprising, we can assure the information comes from the HTC official website.

As the official source says, the update enhances the system stability. When we look at the HTC Touch Pro2 launch date we can assume it’s not a Windows Phone 7-powered handset, but it runs the Windows Mobile 6.1 platform, upgradeable to v6.5. You will ask why would the company roll out a minor update for such a phone while other, more popular QWERTY keyboard packed handsets are still waiting for their updates. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can say about this for now.

If you are one of the HTC Touch Pro2 owners, below are the instructions that will help you upgrade your smartphone.

  1. You must have Microsoft ActiveSync installed on your Windows XP PC or Windows Mobile Device Center on your Windows Vista PC
  2. Connect and sync your HTC Touch Pro2 with your PC using a USB cable
  3. Download the update from HTC’s website
  4. Copy the update, which is an .exe file, to your device. To install the update, tap the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.

The company didn’t present the changelog of this update, and the only thing we know is that it improves your phone performance. No matter what, I think the HTC Touch Pro2 smartphones are still competitive with the new launched devices.
