HTC to Produce Chrome OS/Android device

We can’t say all is well with HTC, but the company is working hard and its afflictions give results. Although many geeks think HTC is the most successful company, it isn’t so. The financial results of Q3 showing sales number decrease stand as a proof of my words. This can be conditioned by several factors, but we don’t want to go deep into them, as I am sure HTC analysts are masters of their work and have already discovered them. However, HTC doesn’t rest in one place and is going to make a Chrome OS/Android hybrid device.

There are only two manufacturers producing devices based on Chrome OS, Samsung and Acer, but we can’t say they show stunning numbers in terms of sale. The handsets running this operating system are not that expensive, take the current Chromebooks priced at $300-$400, but still a relatively affordable price doesn’t help the manufacturer get great sales numbers.

Now it seems HTC wants to join the party and is working on a dual-boot Chrome OS and Android device, which will be a tablet with a keyboard dock, like the Asus Transformer or possibly a built-in keyboard like the Asus Slider. I am noting the presence of a keyboard, because Chrome OS is developed especially for devices with a keyboard.

We can’t say if this is accurate information, but earlier rumors correspond to this one. I mean earlier we were informed HTC is going to produce quad-core tablet(s) and as it/they will be based on Tegra 3 chipsets, they must cost under $300, according to Nvidia CEO. Now that  we take a look at tablets running Chrome OS, we understand HTC has all reasons to come with such devices. And why not?
