Yesterday HTC announced two new handsets running Windows Phone 7.5 — the HTC Titan and the HTC Radar. Mango is the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile operating system and HTC wants to remain on the top positions among the manufacturers that offer smartphones with WP on board.
WP Mango is good, but it is not the key point for these smartphones as the Titan is really a titan with its 4.7-inch touchscreen. Other specs of this phone and the Radar as well come after the jump.
The HTC Titan boasts a 4.7-inch of WVGA LCD, but it comes in a resolution of 480×800 pixels which is quite low for such a powerful handset, but it’s not HTC’s fault, since it’s the limitation of the OS. Anyway, other features include a 1.5GHz processor, 512MB RAM and 16GB of internal memory, an 8MP camera with a dual-LED flash and others. Both devices’ cameras have the same f/2.2 lens with touch-to-focus and a range of camera modes.
Moreover, being a perfect handset with awesome specs, the HTC Titan remains thin, and we have to note the great work of designers who managed to fit all those features into this attractive housing.
In terms of software we must say the HTC Hub looks like HTC Sense, which is quite welcomed by users. It gives you access to weather, RSS feeds and stocks.
The HTC Radar is designed for entry-level market and sports weaker features though it runs Windows Phone 7.5, too. It comes in a candybar form factor sporting a 3.8-inch S-LCD touchscreen, an 8MP wide-angle camera and a 1GHz processor.
Currently this phone is not discussed that much as all geeks’ attention is directed to the HTC Titan, so I recommend you to watch the HTC Titan and Radar hands-on video to discover more about the features I didn’t mention.
