HTC Thunderbolt Having 4G Connection Issues

I was looking for news about the HTC Thunderbolt 4G and stumbled upon a post where the author said their phone had another kind of an issue. As you remember, the phone run up against problems all the time, and after the company replaced those units that had problems related with earpieces, we found the device has another “disease.” The HTC Thunderbolt cycles from using 4G LTE to 3G to 1X and then goes back to 4G.

Maybe this is the main reason why the handset can’t provide a long battery life (the users had to charge the Thunderbolt every 4-6 hours under heavy use; and when the phone is on stand-by, it can be charged after every 18-20 hours). This problem is very popular among the Thunderbolt users, and many Verizon (1, 2, 3) and HTC forums (1, 2) claim it.

The other problem is common for those phones that are used in a 4G area, but when the phone is used only in 3G area, sometimes it just changes to 1x.

It’s sad the flagship of the company causes concerns to the users, but we think HTC and Verizon are working on the problem. Anyway, I think it is the carrier’s problem, not the manufacturer’s one.
