The new WinMo smartphones of HTC (the Trophy, the Tera and the Photon) will be based on the new Qualcomm MSM7227 processor with a clock frequency of 600 MHz. Sadly, it is not a representative of the new generation of Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. This is just the next model in the MSM72xx line.
The HTC Tera
The HTC Trophy
The HTC Photon
However, the undeniable advantage of the Qualcomm MSM7227 for HTC is that it has the same dimensions as the previous generation of processors (12×12 mm), they are compatible with the software, so it seems like this is not something to get totally upset with.
At the same time, the difference between the MSM7227 and the previous MSM7225 is the integrated assembly of use with floating point, cache, Level 2, DSP of 320 MHz, support for a 8 megapixel camera with the WVGA + WVGA resolution, Bluetooth 2.1. In addition, it consumes less power and is designed for non-budget smartphones that cost up to $150.
All of the above should solve the main task of producers: to surpass the functionality of the previous models of smartphones, while reducing the cost of the new devices.
