Geeks all over the world are waiting for new HTC devices that will come with unlocked bootloader. We have heard that the popular HTC Sensation is also going to come with unlocked bootloader. This was discovered by the enthusiasts who often write to the HTC reps.
Once they received the following reply:
“We are currently developing new bootloader unlocked software for your phone. HTC is still committed to allowing our customers to unlock the bootloaders if they wish, however we are still implementing the policy and many updates were already finalized prior to our change in policy. We apologize for the inconvenience, but be assured that we are working on a solution for our customers and our commitment has not changed. Please stay tuned to our official channels for ongoing updates on how we will be implementing this policy. Thank you for your patience.”
This can be the start of the official unlocking of HTC devices that come with locked bootloader. We just don’t know when the update will take place. I mean we are almost sure we’ll get the bootloader of the HTC Sensation unlocked, but this can take a while.
Anyway, this is not a big deal for the XDA developers as they never had the problem of getting different features on the HTC smartphones beforehand.
