The HTC Flyer is known as HTC Evo View 4G that would be launched via Sprint. This is the same Flyer but with WiMax connectivity. The tablet will be available in summer and its WiFi version will appear on Best Buy’s stores in Q2 2011. HTC used Scribe technology in this handset that was adopted ambiguously, but as it has become known that HTC decided to open it for third-party development.
HTC’s Scribe powers a pen-like device that is used to draw and write on the tablet’s screen. But it is not used to navigate the tablet, i.e. we can say it is an additional accessory that could be used or not. The pen has a pressure-sensitive tip that allows the users to use it with the tablet’s built-in apps. Say, when we work in Sketchbook or Notes, the pen makes it easy to draw on the Flyer’s screen.

HTC doesn’t know when the third-party support will become available, since the exact release date of the HTC Flyer hasn’t been announced yet. But I suppose the developers will be able to work with it once the Evo View is launched.
Below are two videos introducing the HTC Flyer’s ad and the Evo View 4G at CTIA 2011. And though I have heard many opinions against the Scribe technology, those who have tried it out are pleased. So I guess the final decision whether to ship this technology in coming devices or not will depend on how users and developers respond to it.
