When the Facebook dedicated gadgets of HTC were unveiled at MWC 2011, the first question which interested people was about their launch date. And probably the answer that they would be available until the end of second quarter satisfied them. Now it is known the HTC Salsa and the HTC ChaCha would be launched in the UK market starting from June 17.
This date is mention by Expansys, which is one of the leading independent online electronics retailers in the UK, and it will start shipping both the HTC Salsa and the HTC ChaCha.
Unfortunately, nothing more is known at this time and we even don’t know what price they would come with. But assuming they are designed for users with active lifestyle, i.e. most likely for students, the handsets wouldn’t cost much. Once new details about their pricing are available, we’ll inform you, of course, but you can pre-order the Salsa and the Chacha right now from Expansys.
These devices are similar in many aspects, but they have different form factor: the HTC Salsa is a full-touchscreen while the HTC Chacha is a QWERTY candybar. The first one comes with a 3.4-inch display with resolution of 480×320 and the HTC Chacha is equipped with a 2.6-inch touchscreen with the same resolution. In other aspects these smartphones sport almost the same features like 600MHz processor, 512MB of internal memory supporting up to 32GB memory storage via microSD card slot. Both handsets support HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity, capture with 5MP camera and run Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
I guess once their pricing details are announced, there will be a huge flow of pre-orders, don’t you think so?
