HTC is planning to release a new high-end Android device codenamed as the HTC Runnymede. The handset was first seen in EXIF data, but any other information about it was missing. Now we finally have the list of the handset’s specs.
So the HTC Runnymede is going to be equipped with:
- Android 2.3.4 OS
- HTC Sense 3.5 UI
- 4.7-inch display with a resolution of 480 × 800
- 1.5GHz single-core MSM8255 processor (the same as of the HTC Flyer)
- 8MP rear camera (coming with backlit sensor and 28 mm wide-angle lens)
- Possibility of shooting 720p videos at 60 frames per second (which is twice the typical case)
- 1.3MP front-facing camera
- 768MB of RAM
- 16GB of storage memory
- SRS Surround Sound, dual microphones,
- DLNA
- Bundled Beats headphones
As we see from the last spec, the device is going to be the first result of the cooperation between HTC and Beats Audio. In case of success this cooperation will most likely be continued.
The carrier of the HTC Runnymede is not announced yet, but the device is expected to come sometime close to the holiday season. If the HTC Eternity is also released at the same time, HTC customers will be able to choose between two 4.7-inch devices with different operating systems — Android and Windows Phone.
