HTC Replenishes the List of Devices with Unlocked Bootloader

There were times when average smartphone users were ordinary folks. But things changed and now average smartphone users know much more in terms of functionality of their beloved devices. One important feature in this knowledge is the bootloader unlock, which lets users meddle with the ROM. Now HTC fans worldwide can justify their devotion to HTC by the fact that the Taiwanese company indeed keeps promises. Earlier in summer HTC has announced it is going to make a list of devices with unlocked bootloader. HTC opened that list with the HTC Sensation series and the list is growing ever since. It seems HTC puts much emphasis on this list as a benefit against the loyalty of its fans.

It was only last week that the HTC Evo View 4G received its Android 3.2 Honeycomb update, and now the device got its honorable position in the HTC list of devices with unlocked bootloader. At the same time myTouch 4G Slide was also added to the list.

With all this fun, HTC warns the bootloader unlock operation can have serious side-effects and the users undertaking it must know they are risking to have technical issues, which would not fall under HTC warranty. HTC also clearly states the bootloader unlock has nothing to do with the SIM unlock, since it is the discretion of the carrier.
