HTC’s first smartphones running Microsoft’s Windows Phone Mango are the HTC Radar and the HTC Titan. The Radar is already launched in the US via T-Mobile and you can discover its advantages and shortcomings through direct use. But the Titan is not available for large masses statewide (we’ve already introduced to you the HTC Titan review based on the UK release). However, one thing’s clear — WP Mango is designed well enough to make a real competition to Android and iOS. But there are smartphone sellers claiming this handset runs something other than Windows Phone 7.5.
A German retailer is currently selling the HTC Titan. There is nothing unusual about this. But look at the platform it runs. The HTC Titan is powered by Windows Mobile 2003? What on earth does it mean? Is it the carrier’s mistake or some irony? I don’t really get how a thing like this could happen, when Windows Phone Mango is the phone’s key feature. Or is it possible the ad makers were not aware of it?
