The third One series smartphone in terms of power is the HTC One V. It’s a mid-range handset, which can satisfy many users but its class doesn’t allow consumers to hope for more. Take, for example, its 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen and single-core Snapdragon processor. They don’t allow the phone to “feel confident” when it comes to web browsing and gaming. But it should no longer matter as rumors coming from Slash Gear say the HTC Proto is the improved variant of the One V and it sports a larger screen and a faster processor.
The HTC Proto was heard earlier but back then no one knew what device we are dealing with. Now that some of its features are disclosed, we can make assumptions. The Proto is rumored to be packed with a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen, a 1GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 5MP camera. Consequently, besides the screen and processor the rest of features are the same. This lets us talk about the possible follow-up of the HTC One V. We’ll be able to make some correct conclusions regarding it after the design is known. The improved processor and screen size will help users work with the handset 2-3 times faster.
The device is expected to be announced alongside with the HTC One X+ and the HTC phablet.
