HTC Portal: Software for Remote Control

This simple application allows you access your HTC smarphone and manage some of its functions directly from your computer without installing additional software on it.

It is a ported version of Motorola Phone Tools with smartphones of American manufacturer. It allows you to add / delete / view / edit contacts, bookmarks, browser history and much more!

But the main feature of the HTC Portal is that you do not need any programs for all of this! Just install it once on a device connected to a computer with Wi-Fi and all opportunities will be available from the web browser. And it means that you will be able to get access to info from any device regardless of operating system – either Windows or Linux.

HTC Portal supports:
- Working with contacts
- View photos (by the way, with excellent slide show!)
- Play multimedia files
- View the call log
- Reading and sending SMS
- And much more!

It is known that HTC Portal has excellent compatibility with the HTC Hero and T-Mobile G1 (HTC Dream). Also WiFi-connection and due to some info it should also support USB.

I think that with the iPad now touting it as almost a feature rather just software, these remote control software applications are going to be really gaining in popularity. I think the only thing really holding their growth back is a lack of awareness about the benefits they offer. In my experience, once people try them out, they remain steady users.
