To ensure its success in the US market, HTC decided to upgrade its international strategy. The entire first quarter of the upcoming year will be devoted to the development of technologies, so don’t expect many releases for this period. The overall quantity of the devices offered in 2012 will be fewer than that of 2011, while the quality of the devices is promised to be improved. Still we will not get a chance to avoid a few nice surprises coming from HTC. Firstly, the manufacturer will finally release the first ever 4G LTE device running Windows Phone OS and then we’ll have a flagship coming with Android.
The WP device, which will sport 4G LTE, is rumored to be launched in February. Presumably we’ll have a first look at it at the CES 2012 event. The external design of the novelty is assumed to be similar to that of the HTC Titan.
As for the Android-flavored device it will most likely be called the HTC Elite. Obviously this will be the first HTC handset coming with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, while the HTC Ville and the HTC Edge might join it. Another cool feature of the novelty will be the support of Beats Audio technology. This is a highly ranked feature and will definitely attract additional attention towards the smartphone. AT&T will be the carrier to offer the HTC Elite, though the name might be changed to the HTC Congressional. The launch date is estimated to be the first week of April.
