HTC Photon to be Announced as HTC HD Mini at MWC?

The first info about the device codenamed HTC Photon has appeared on the web at the end of last year, while it was not submitted formally at the time. As it became known now from the unofficial sources, HTC will possibly unveil the model at Mobile World Congress as HTC HD Mini.

This model is not meant to be a flagship model of HTC and appears to be a simplified version of the powerful HTC HD2. According to preliminary information, HTC HD Mini has a 3.2-inch capacitive touch display with HVGA resolution, Qualcomm MSM7227 processor with the capacity of 600 MHz, a 5 megapixel camera, A-GPS navigation features, supports HSPA high-speed mobile cellular standard, as well as Wi-Fi networks. The consumers will appreciate the additional 3.5 mm jack for headphones.

The new HTC Photon is expected to be based on the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, probably a new version of WM 6.5.3, but not Windows Mobile 7, the announcement of which also took place at the MWC. As previously reported, the sales of HTC Photon or HD Mini should begin in April this year.
