There are several truly good smartphones overshadowed by the others, and it’s nothing but a matter of promotion. The HTC One XL is one of them but everything will change as this handset will become the first 4G smartphone in most European countries, including the UK.
The title of the first 4G smartphone is binding but on the other hand, it’s enough to attract more consumers. The HTC One XL has been launched in the US via AT&T and in Germany via Vodafone, but other markets have had no chance to offer this handset to their consumers. For example, it’s unacceptable for the UK not to have a 4G LTE smartphone in its market. It’s explained by the fact the first LTE network will run only a month later. In this sense, the HTC One XL will look quite attractive.
Back in March UK regulator Ofcoms announced about its plans to offer 4G later this year. It was confirmed after getting Everything Everywhere permission to use its 1800MHz spectrum. Now as Pocket Lint confirms, the One XL will be offered with Everything Everywhere. So UK smartphone users can get their hands on it and test the 4G network once it goes live on September 11th.
