HTC One Sales Likely To Fall By 40% In Q3

HTC One, the flagship smartphone from HTC, is likely to less popular further in the third quarter of the year, as per the analysis by a market research firm. HTC introduced this HTC One in March this year though it went to market in April due to delay in shipment. Initially it was high in demand but after May its sales volume started declining. As per the trend, the analysts said that in the third quarter, it would go down further.

The  market research firm, based in Australia, said in its report that since May, HTC One’s sales volume started declining though it did well till May. The sales volume in the second quarter says that out of 3 million units of HTC One sold in the second quarter, more than 2.5 millions were already sold by May and the month June saw only less than a million units of selling.  The analysts have predicted that the July – September quarter i.e. the third quarter is likely to see a  drop as much as 40% in the sales volume. A 40% decline means it will come down to close to 6 lacs units per month. This drop is not at all a good sign for this Taiwanese mobile maker. HTC  One contributes an estimated 40% of the total units that the Taiwanese company shipped and 60% of the revenues (it’s priced higher than most other HTC phones), which would lead to a drop of 15-20% in sales for the third quarter.

A decline in sales volume of HTC One will obviously hit HTC but it also has planned well to make things better. HTC is already building its lineup with the bigger HTC Butterfly S and the more compact HTC One mini. Both of those share most of the premium features of the One, like UltraPixel camera and BoomSound stereo speakers. Whether they will be enough to prop up falling HTC One sales remains to be seen. Another gigantic smartphone ‘phablet “ HTC One Max is also in the news. Sources close to HTC, are saying that it is in the process of developing the phone with a mammoth 6 inch, 1080p display. It will include a stonking 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM. It will come in two versions – either 32 GB or 64GB of storage space. It will have a spacious 3,200mAh battery. But its most important aspect is of course the screen size – 6inch. This gigantic phone is expected to be in September this year.
