Do you remember the smartphone HTC Merge? Yeap, I know some of you assume that this device does not exist for multiple reasons. I personally thought that something wrong went with the release of the smartphone and that’s the main reason why HTC Merge was delayed to an unknown release chance.
And now HTC finally itself makes clear that the gadget does actually exist in a press release provided by HTC.
The earlier release date of the smartphone was expected to take place sometime in December and the gadget was supposed to hit Verizon stores by the Christmas day. But it never did happen. Luckily the new info talks about the possibility of the gadget to come to the stores in spring.
The pricing and the launch date of the gadget remain unknown, but I bet Verizon will not lose the chance of becoming the first North American carrier to get the device to its stores. But unlike the recent models, this model is going to continue its way to the rest of the carriers too, thus it cannot be called a Verizon exclusive (just remembered the early magazine shots of the gadget with the exclusivity tag).
Recall the main specs of the HTC Merge- it comes with pre-installed Android Froyo operating system, HTC Sense experience and physical QWERTY keyboard (sliding out), 3.8 inch touchscreen. As for the 5 megapixel camera, it has the support for the 720p HD video capturing possibilities.
The device is just awesome as states Jason Mackenzie, president, HTC Americas:
“Combining the functionality of Android with the HTC Sense experience, the HTC Merge is the perfect device for those customers who are looking for a reliable mobile experience with the features and functionality of a smartphone, whether it’s at home or travelling around the world.”
