HTC Legend Update to 2.05.405.2

The owners of the smartphone HTC Legend are lucky to get the next FOTA-update that can fix some of the bugs on the firmware and improve the operation of the device.

The list of changes in the firmware 2.05.405.2 update include:

  • Improved stability of data transmission through GPRS/EDGE/3G.
  • Improved algorithm for automatic setting of the volume ringtone on incoming calls.
  • Updated application of mobile services Google.
  • Synchronization with the latest version of the Android 2.1 Eclair source code.
  • Other enhancements aimed at improving the stability of the phone.

To check and start the update, go to Settings => About phone => System Updates => Check Now.

Warning We recommend using open Wi-Fi access point or unlimited tariff plans to get the best and fastest results.

HTC Hero Update to Android 2.1

    2 new bugs with this firmware..

    1 – sms messaging
    When you open a conversation the earliest post is now highlited instead of the most recent which means you will have to scroll all the way to the bottom to get to the new message

    2 – Sim card changed message after rebooting or shutting down
    When you restart the phone you will receive a message stating that the sim card has changed every time.

    seriously… (1) is not only bug its a completely ridiculous oversight – I've got conversations spanning months and have to spend ages cycling through all the old messages to get to the new one. HTC SORT THIS OUT ASAP.

    Also when I lose signal and select “Select Automatically” for network operators, it restarts?? Sort it out please

    definitely agree with you guys! it is totally agonising and a waste of time to scan thru all the past msgs in the same thread to get to the new one! could we get a solution ASAP.

    I am starting to get seriously pissed off by this SMS bug and at HTC for not sorting it out. It's seems like the smallest, easiest bugfix and yet a month later, it's not fixed. This is by the way my first and last HTC phone… This one will hit the used market and an iPhone is once again gonna be in my pocket.

    Hi, I have the same problem as well. I got a solution for you. Download the program called – Handcent SMS. Search it from Market. The program sorts sms according to the latest one and provides a nice backdrop to your sms conversations. Its one of the best app I've seen around market.

    Can be a permanent fix for your SMS problem. Cheers!

    Hi, I have the same problem as well. I got a solution for you. Download the program called – Handcent SMS. Search it from Market. The program sorts sms according to the latest one and provides a nice backdrop to your sms conversations. Its one of the best app I've seen around market.

    I have had the problems you list for some time. I contacted HTC Support and they just went through a full reboot and assured me that it would solve the problem… Nope… Didn't and what is more my screen now freezes and I have to remove the battery to be able to get it working… Total pants… Been recommending it to friends instead of the iphone… How wrong I was… I'll be going back to an iPhone now.

    I agree with the other comments. It is massively irritating to have to scroll down to through all my messages to get to the last one. Can this be fixed ASAP please?

    Still – the 10th of december 2010 – there are the same great problems with the earliest post is highligted insted of the newest sms, as described below. nI got the system software-update no. 2.05.405.2 yesterday – and this terrible problem spoiled my day! (After perfect function for 5 monts of my Legend!!).nHTC please do instantly repare this with a new update. HTC it is not good enough!!!

    Has this problem with sms messages been sorted out?nMy phone offered the new system update yesterday and I have this problem now…nI see that a lot of you have had this issue since June. Is there a solution found cause this is December now!!!!!!

    My Legend told me to update on 14th of Dec, which I did, and now I have the same problems as stated below. Unfortunately I did not think of looking into the quality of these updates first.nI can see, that the bugs have been an issue since July, which should have given HTC plenty of time to figure out the problem and make a new update.nThis is really bad service – I regret having recommended this phone to any of my friends.
