Last night we heard that the HTC Hero will be updated to Android 2.1 on June 4. Of course, the news was received with some skepticism, until at 10:00 am local time, the site started to offer the HTC Hero owners to download the long-awaited update.
“The wireless update for PDA HTC Hero will be available June 4, 2010. The main change of expectations — an operating system Android 2.1! Once the upgrade will be available for your device, the device itself will offer to install it,” this announcement can be found on the net now.
Yes, this is really an update for the GSM-version of the HTC Hero, and the firmware contains the long-awaited Android 2.1!
Currently, many users from China and Taiwan have already updated their smartphones, but we don’t know when the new firmware will reach Europe.
To check the availability of update, go to Menu -> Settings -> About the phone -> Update. If your device does not find any available updates, you will have to wait until the update is available in your region.

Thank you.
