HTC HD2 With Android 2.3 OS

Immediately after the release of Android 2.3 several developers started porting the new version of the operating system on HTC HD2. And now the first assembly is ready!

Talking of the image and the process of porting Android 2.3 on HTC HD2 is discussed on xda-developers in the thread of Gingerbread extracted system.img, but now there are also two seperate threads devoted to individual works of two authors – IcedCube and Spbeeking.

Both assemblies are based on an emulator from the SDK and are not suitable for everyday use. Slow, low fps, no reaction to some of the keys … Much remains to be done to ensure that the port will be complete!

But if you cannot wait to get acquainted with the new operating system, you can do it right now!

Build Android 2.3 for HTC HD2:
- IcedCube GingerHD2
- SPGinger HD2

Run of the new version is not more complicated. It’s enough to download the required files, unpack them in the folder “Android” in the root of the memory card, open it and run on two consecutive file – CLRCAD.exe and Haret.exe.

Probably this is overdue, but I’m using Android Gingerbread on my HTC HD2 and it is working fine. Better then Windows mobile 6.5 ever did. Just strange that there is nearly nothing to find on the web about my version. Is it too good?
