One of the first owners of the smartphone HTC HD2 said that support for USB-host (server role in a USB-connection) is present on the device. But there is no word about this in the list of the official specs of the smartphone, although the function is declared in the technical specifications of the platform. One of the members of the xda-developers forum decided to investigate the matter.
So, Cotulla, the author of HardSPL for HTC HD2, presented two videos demonstrating the work of the USB-Host on the flagship of all WM 6.5 smartphones:
It should be noted that the USB-host function allows you to play the role of server in the USB-connection, which allows you to connect different peripheral devices to the phone. For example, you can connect printers, keyboards, joysticks, etc.
At the moment the author has reported on the successful launch of the keyboard, mouse, flash drive and card reader.
The scheme of the cable is also provided. But there is no info about the drivers necessary for this modifications to work. According to the author there are too many mistakes in it. But as soon as they are finalized, new opportunities will open to all owners of HTC HD2.
