HTC Europe online successively releases hotfixes one after another for already two days. This time it is a patch to enhance features of the HTC HD2 when used together with the car kit.
According to comments in the official site: “This update for HTC HD2 extends the functionality of the smartphone in CarKit mode when connecting the device to the original car kit. Among the innovations are support for portrait mode (you can switch between portrait / landscape), display of enhanced call history, the ability to set the ” + “ symbol and flexibility in completing messages while using Bluetooth has been added”.
(The meaning of the last item is “more flexibility …” or “more flexibility in completing messages while using Bluetooth” is not clear. If someone guesses what the matter is about ,please comment)
The patch is made for installation in all versions of firmwares.
Installation instruction
1) Download the hotfix from the official web site
2) Copy the file to the device
3) Run and follow the instructions on the screen
4) Restart your device and you’re done!
Warning! After a hard reset or pre-firmware you need to install the hotfix again.

Who knows if this solves the “no network”message on my carkit (VW,RNS510) while the signal stenght is indicated ok and the phone is working fine? In my experience this is typical for HD2. HD and other HTC phones dont have this problem.
