HTC Golf to Be Another Low-End Smartphone

I have always said “what is bred in the bone will not go out of the flesh.” I address this phrase to Taiwanese HTC, which has announced it won’t launch other smartphones this year except for the three/four One series devices. There are several handsets rumored to come with HTC branding, but the one I am going to introduce to you is unknown to us. The new leak refers to the HTC Golf aimed at first time smartphone users or typical texting teenagers.

This information comes our way by the courtesy of the guys over at PocketNow, who have come up with a sample photo taken by the HTC Golf. Undoubtedly, this is a codename and will be changed in the future. It will most likely be included in One lineup, because we think the company will work only on One line handsets.

The HTC Golf is rumored to come equipped with a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, a single-core processor clocked at not more than 1GHz with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory expandable via microSD slot. The model offers 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity.

The specs list shows we are dealing with a low-end smartphone. The One Line includes a similar handset, the HTC One V, so we assume this handset is designed for another market, say Asia or Africa.
