First the HTC Flyer was launched in Europe, then its Wi-Fi version was released in the U.S. exclusively via Best Buy. Now the HSPA+ enabled version of the HTC Flyer is coming to T-Mobile, but it will be sold only to Business-2-Business customers. Unfortunately, the carrier doesn’t mention when it will come to the regular consumers, too.
Initially it was announced the tablet will be sold via T-Mobile in July, but that didn’t happen and all people began to think that was just a rumor. The Flyer is not the best product we have seen in the company’s lineup, but the fact it will get Honeycomb after launch and will use the HTC Scribe Pen made almost everyone discuss it. As a result HTC secured over 1 million orders for it before the launch.
Anyway, the U.S. version of the tablet will come with the same specs list we have seen in previous models, i.e. it will run Android Gingerbread, but the Honeycomb update is on the way.
Intended for business persons only, the Flyer can be pre-ordered only via a specialized ordering system. In terms of pricing the carrier set a very affordable price tag — $399.99 with a 2-year agreement, or $499.99 with a 1-year contract.
