We were expecting the HTC Explorer to be released earlier — and here it is. The handset that first appeared codenamed as the HTC Pico is now available! This is going to be the most affordable entry-level HTC handset coming with Android OS.

The device is quite cute coming with small dimensions. It’s equipped with small 3.2 inch HVGA display with 320 × 480 resolution, not that powerful 600 MHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and a 3MP camera. Well, none of these features can be called impressive, still they are rather cool for an entry-level handset.
The only two amazing features of the handset are the Android OS and HTC Sense UI — the smartphone comes with the latest Android 2.3.5 and HTC Sense 3.5 UI, which gives a lot of space for various customizations.
The HTC Explorer will be available in EMEA and Asia in Q4 of this year. The color options will include Metallic Black, Active Black and Metallic Navy — rather attractive. As for those who want a brighter color palette, there are back covers coming in Metallic Blue, Metallic Orange, Metallic White and Metallic Purple.
