The HTC Edge pretends to become the most popular and powerful smartphone of the Taiwanese company. That’s not a joke – under an attractive housing will be located a processor with a Nvidia Tegra 3 chipset, which is not a quad-core one, but five-core.

In addition to the four major cores clocking at 1.5GHz, there is also the fifth one, which is called a ”spare.” Its clock frequency is only 500MHz and it serves to reduce power consumption.
This is the latest news about the HTC Edge and the other specs remain the same, so it’s not senseless to remind you the old ones. The HTC Edge is packed with a 4.7-inch touchscreen, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, Bluetooth 4.0, an 8MP rear camera that is able to record Full HD videos at 1080p and a front-facing camera for web chat.
It’s expected the HTC Edge will be available for purchase in Spring of 2012. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the phone and its pricing as well, but taking into account what features the device is come with, that’s not difficult to imagine how much the carriers will require for it.
