HTC Desire S Gingerbread Update and Sensation XL Source Code Available

It is well known the proof of the pudding is in its eating. The same goes for an ice-cream, and you don’t need to know the detailed recipe of the ice-cream to enjoy it. The same is true for the smartphones, but if the average consumers get happy when a new and more technologically advanced device is announced to be available, the geeks get particularly happy when the source code (binary code), of the software inside that device gets freely available. Apart from mere testing it or using it as a platform for further knowledge in the programming field, the geeks can develop their particular version of the application but making some changes in its code.

Now the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has released source codes for its Desire S Gingerbread update and the international version of the Sensation XL. HTC has uncovered a golden mine to generate due praises for itself even if that praises in this case are coming from the geeks of mobile programming world. The truth is the majority of HTC device users just don’t care whether the source code of their favorite apps is available or not.

HTC knows for sure what it’s doing and I think Android wants to get as many people engaged in its open source philosophy as possible, and slowly but steadily it brings its results.
