The HTC Desire S was unveiled at MWC and it is one of those smartphones that are designed especially for European and Asian markets. The handset should launch today in Germany, and it was thought to be the first launch in Europe. But two days ago the first units were sold in Chech Republic, so I can say the HTC Desire S is already on stores.
First it was announced the Desire S would cost nearly €477 (about $675), but it is not expensive at all for a phone that comes with Android 2.4 and HTC Sense UI. Android 2.4 is a relatively minor update from Gingerbread that will keep the same name actually. This Android-powered smartphone is equipped with a 3.7-inch touchscreen, 1GHz processor, 1.1GB ROM and 768MB RAM. The memory can be expanded up to 32GB, and this memory can be used to store HQ pictures and HD videos taken by 5MP camera with resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, autofocus and LED flash.
The first 100 buyers of the HTC Desire S from Chech Republic have got their handsets with 50% discount. Look at the pictures below to see the first buyers of the phone.
It’s not known when the smartphone will be launched in the UK yet, but the first rumors that appeared on Mobile.co.uk say that the phone will be available either in April or before the end of March. And when the Desire S received FCC approval, we thought it could be real to see this smartphone by the end of March, which has happened.
