HTC has enhanced HTC Desire family with a novelty of HTC Desire S, but this does not mean that they are going to stop here. There are plans to make the lineup are good as possible. The main possibility is the idea of having Android 2.3 ( which is the Android version coming with HTC Desire S) being ported to at least some of the other members of the family.
This means that those of you who are the owners of the rest of the older versions of the HTC Desire might get lucky with an update to a newer version of the Android OS. According to more or less reliable source of CNET UK, we got a word that HTC has plans to update HTC Desire HD, HTC Desire Z and the original HTC Desire to Android 2.3 only a couple of months after the release of the Gingerbread novelty.
Well, if we believe the sources the earlier date announced to the release date of HTC Desire S is April 18, which is like in a month, but the rest of the carriers have later plans of May or June. This is the reason you do not need to plan to receive the update of the Android Gingerbread earlier than the fall of this year.
The update will go this way- first it will land to Desire HD and Desire Z, the recently available HTC Desire updates (coming with the latest version of the Sense UI) and only in a month or later the update will hit the original HTC Desire.
