HTC Desire HD vs Samsung Galaxy S

Android smartphones HTC Desire HD and Samsung Galaxy S have come to compete to get the first place as leading handsets.  In order to find out which one is better we can only compare different features of both phones.
Handsets are not only way too smart gadgets they are also our best devices and I am sure that while choosing a phone at first you pay attention to its design, and sometimes this may even be a decisive factor. When I compare the design of Desire HD and Galaxy S, I do not see so much differences, although while taking into account the size here Desire HD gives way to the Galaxy S. The Desire HD measures 123 x 68 x 11.8 mm and weights 164g, while The Galaxy S beats the record measuring only 122 x 64 x 9.9mm; weighing at only 118g. The Galaxy S is slimmer and lighter and these factors make it more preferable.

Display

The other criterion that we are going to take is the screen size of the display. Here both phones have almost the same qualities, although Desire HD dimensions are better as it has a 4.3 inches display as compared to The Galaxy S which comes with a 4-inch screen. However, the Galaxy S enhanced with Super AMOLED screen insures to be 20% brighter but it is not a secret that HTC’s LCD screen is better for use in the daylight.

Hardware

Now let’s have a look at the operating system that the phones run. Hardware features are follows: both handsets have 1GHz processors, Desire HD comes along with 8255 Snapdragon and Galaxy S with an 1GHz Hummingbird processor, the latter is known to be the best in terms of colors and graphics.
Now let us compare their storage abilities. HTC Desire HD can support 32 GB memory card, the Samsung Galaxy S has two storage options – 8GB storage and the other a 16GB.
If you have a habit of taking photos on your phone, then you definitely should have a more enhanced camera. The Galaxy S is equipped with a 5MP camera while the new HD version has an advanced 8MP camera, but it also has an LED flash for better photography unlike the Galaxy S.

OS

Both handsets run Android 2.2 OS, the only difference being the custom UIs. Desire HD Sense is really very improved, it not only allows pre-caching of maps but also introduces HTCSense.com which gives you the possibility to store your phone data on PC and remotely control your phone so once your mobile is stolen you will be able to control your data.

  1. The galaxy suffers from bad lag due to its crappy Samsung filesystem it uses, but their are 1 click fixes. But its still quick. Also teh galaxy does support up to 32GB external card (or 32 GB total storage) which was not discussed in this review. Also the samsung LED is actually better in daylight when compared to the HTC.

While samsung is a great phone I believe HTC is better integrated into Android than samsung…

  2. Samsung Galaxy S is the win in every way.
