According to HTC’s British division’s official Facebook page, on Monday, May 16, 2011, the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Incredible S will get Android 2.3 Gingerbread firmware update. The update will go to the British users first of all, but, as history shows, the residents of other countries or states will not have to wait long.
Actually, it was two weeks ago when HTC officially announced that a wireless firmware update was ready for these two smartphones in the UK. Nevertheless, none of the users of these two devices has received any OS update during these two weeks.
I guess I should also mention that the update is only for unlocked versions of the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Incredible S: The others will have to wait a bit longer.
You should have already noticed that the HTC Desire HD and the HTC Incredible S are getting more and more updates lately. Well, they are among the best smartphones of the Taiwanese company, after all. Recently HTC Sense 3.0 was released for the HTC Desire HD. Well, not as official as we would like, of course, but anyway… As for the HTC Incredible S, it’s already getting the official Gingerbread update in all regions, which is also great news.
