HTC and Facebook Joint Smartphone to be Launched in Q3

When HTC’s attempts to earn money by launching Facebook-branded phones failed, no other manufacturer did anything of the kind. Well, there was the Motokey Social but I can’t recall other handsets with such features. Thus, there are only three smartphones with quick access to your favorite social networking site — the MotoKey Social, the HTC Salsa and the ChaCha. Now an insider says the Taiwanese company and Facebook will join again to make another smartphone, which will undoubtedly succeed.

Both companies seem to have realized their mistakes regarding the Chacha and the Salsa, and that considered the new handset will have “a platform exclusive to Facebook to enable and integrate all functions available on the social networking site.” Moreover, the same insider says this project is initiated by Facebook, which wants to expand its revenue streams after it goes public, and one such strategy will be launching its own-brand smartphones.

Nothing else is available at the moment, but it is assumed the new HTC smartphone with Facebook integration will be launched in Q3, 2012.
